Hello ladies,
Sincere thanks to all who volunteered their time and energy to the success of St. Francis' 60th Carnival - a wonderful annual event, contributing to parish finances and community celebration!
Junk in the Trunk has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 17th, 2002, with a rain date of Saturday, September 24th. As I have previously mentioned, I (Martha) will be away from August 25 - September 4, and unable to communicate with vendors and assign their spaces. We are very pleased that Giovanna Vollaro has offered to run this Junk in the Trunk, with assistance from several other members. Additional volunteers will be needed to assure another successful sale.
At our next MEETING on Tuesday, September 6th, we will need to establish new leadership in the role of President or co-Presidents of the Ladies' Guild. We have both decided, with great difficulty, to "retire" from our co-president roles. It has been a great honor and blessing to serve our Lord, our parish and the Ladies' Guild in these positions. Both of us have exhausted our capacity to perform our responsibilities in the manner which is appropriate. I (Martha) need to focus my remaining years on family and personal goals; I am depleted of energy and ability to serve capably. Just as in the working world, each individual knows when "it is time" to change direction, step back, and breathe. I (Margaret) hope to use my professional expertise in other ways, including assisting my family members.
Please consider giving your time as president or co-president of our dynamic Ladies' Guild. We are both enthusiastic about making the transition a smooth one, by passing on all pertinent information, coaching, training, and acting as resources in the ongoing Guild activities. We have been blessed with such assistance extended by other Board members and others, enriching our experience.
Enjoy a safe, blessed summer!
